Why they came to us

Best known for its annual creative awards D&AD is an educational charity that represents the global design and advertising industries

The web site is D&AD’s key brand vehicle but over recent years, their online brand presence had started to become fragmented

JP74 were briefed to develop this years D&AD Awards website and set a benchmark for the organisation’s future online presence.

How we went about it

At JP74, effective design is about good-looking and easy to use websites that engage our users. Our first step for D&AD was to create an awards website that would provide an ongoing framework for D&AD to work with for the foreseeable future

The JP74 design team needed to create a website that would stay true to D&AD’s brand and would showcase rather than overwhelm the work on display.

The designs will also house the other D&AD sub-brands including the Student Awards’ website

Behind the scenes the website is supported by JP74’s content management system which is seamlessly integrated with D&AD’s existing systems allowing for automated and manual updates.

What we delivered

A well designed website that the D&AD can easily update themselves

A more engaging experience for its visitors. For the first time users can save their favourite entries for reference against their profile and comment on the work. D&AD Members also have the facility to download the winning work.

How they feel

“D&AD’s audience is very exacting and it was naturally important for us to get the design, look and feel of the new Awards website right. Equally though the underlying technical architecture is important.  With JP74’s help we now have an Awards website that has brought all of these together and that gives us a platform to build upon.”
